Summerside is home to one recreational area and five parks. Summerside Lake is one of the biggest attractions to the entire Summerside and area. It is home to a 13 hectare and 28 feet deep lake located in the western portion of the neighbourhood. The Park is only open to only members of the Home Owners Association and the park is maintained with their fees.
The number of things you can do at Lake Summerside is almost endless. You can go boating and fishing, take dancing lessons, carve pumpkins in October, build gingerbread houses in the winter, learn karate, and do a Bootcamp class, etc. The Summerside Residents Associations host several sport and entertainment activities making the entire community more family-friendly.
Getting around is easy
Residents of Summerside and areas have easy access to several nearby neighborhoods and cities. Despite being nestled on the southern edge of Edmonton, residents can easily get around through the Anthony Henday Drive circling the city and Highway 2 running north and south. Summerside and areas neighborhood bus service is maintained by the Edmonton Transit System.
Local amenities
Summerside residents aren’t required to travel far just to have access to certain amenities. Residents can get almost anything they want within the city. For example, the South Edmonton Common is one of the major shopping areas west of Summerside. The area is made up of 2.3 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment space extending over 320 acres and making it one of the largest open-air retail areas in North America. Also, there are several other commercial and retail businesses across the city.
Health services
Top-quality healthcare is one of the major features of Summerside and areas of Edmonton. Some of the major hospitals and medical centres in the city are the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and Health Centre, the West Ellerslie Medical Centre, and the Millbourne Mall Medical Centre.
