Great weather 

Unlike other areas of Canada, Delta enjoys one of the warmest climates in the country. The city gets very little snow so winter is not as cold as many other parts of the country. In fact, summer in Delta is warm and sunny and occasionally hot. 

The city’s average temperature in July and August is 16.9 degrees Celsius. While the daily average temperature in January is 2.8 degrees Celsius. More so, unlike several other parts of the country, Delta experiences fresh spring, while Autumn is cool and friendly.

If you’ like your kids to be bilingual, Delta School District provides French Immersion programs. These programs offer students the opportunity to enhance their chances of a successful career by being bilingual. Delta School District is home to seven secondary schools, 24 elementary schools, and makes provision for about 16,000 students. The school district is also responsible for the Delview Adult Centre and the Delta Resource Centre. Even more, parents who are interested in other options to typical classroom-based method can opt for a Ministry-funded Distributed Learning program known as Home Quest.

Delta’s fertile and flat land makes it one of the most significant agricultural areas in Greater Vancouver. In fact, the Agricultural Land Reserve regulations has earmarked and preserve most of the city’s land for agricultural purpose. The preserved areas are protected from being used for suburban housing.  In fact, one of the city’s communities, Ladner, is typically a fishing and farming village.
